Pat Custer Denison and Chip Denison (both b. 1948)
create unique, one of a kind ceramic tile fine art paintings, often using
shaped wooden frames, carved and painted. This energetic, creative
couple (married since 1970) also do wood and tile combination mixed
media "cut-outs". These pieces are always uniquely painted and carved,
although the cut-out form itself may be repeated.
Pat is extremely proud to announce her print,
"Juvenile Green Heron, Fishing" was chosen
by noted artist Jim Dine to be included in the
Boston Printmakers Biennial 2011, a
prestigious national print competition  at the
Danforth Museum, Framingham, MA.
Site Launched March 21,  2008.  Updated April 21, 2013
Pat returns to her printmaking "roots" (she
began her art career doing wood block
prints and etchings). She is doing
combination prints  on her computer and
printing with a large format printer and
archival inks.

PAT has been a professional
artist since her training in
painting and printmaking at
the University of Michigan
(1966-1970). Pat is the artist
and designer with Chip being
the perfect facilitator. Chip
often claims his job
description includes any work
that Pat doesn't think is fun.
Chip had years of experience
in the building trades before
he joined Pat in the studio
full time in 1990. The couple
both lived in Mt. Clemens, MI
since childhood, until moving
to their Up North, MI home in
1998. They intended to move
south, but lost their hearts to
a special spot in a wetlands
on a small lake in Benzie
County. Pat designed their
house and studio and Chip, as
always, the perfect
facilitator, built Pat's plan
.
The Denisons
semi-annual series of
silk screened 6" x 8"
tiles are eagerly awaited
and collected. These tiles
are small editions that
are usually retired after
one year. The tile series
can be viewed and
purchased on line.
